What Is This Information Used For?

We ask for some information so we can provide a more accurate quote for your system. If you choose to move forward with one of the systems, you’ll have the chance to submit this information to the Larson team so we can contact you with next steps. You have no obligation to purchase a system by taking this assessment.

APS or SRP

By telling us your energy provider, we can include provider-eligible rebates for your system. If you are unsure of your provider, try checking your most recent electricity bill.

Identifying Your System Type

Split Systems

A split system will have an outdoor section and an indoor section somewhere inside your home. The outdoor unit is usually located on the ground outside of your home and the indoor section may be in the attic, basement, garage, or crawl space.

Packaged Units

Packaged units are a self-contained, all-in-one, type of system that are typically installed on rooftops. The most common package units are packaged heat pumps and packaged air conditioners with built-in gas furnaces.

Are one of these types of systems better than the other?

No! Both systems are equally as effective for heating and cooling your home. If you have a smaller home, you may opt for a package system because they are located outside of your home.

Should I switch the type of system I have if I am purchasing a new unit?

We don’t recommend changing the type of system you have on your home. You can always speak with one of the Larson pros if you have questions on the type of system in your home.

Identifying Your System’s Heating Source

Gas

A gas furnace typically uses a burner to produce heat. If your system uses gas as the heating source there is usually a small window on the front of the furnace where you should see a blue flame.

Electric

Electric furnaces may have heavy metal wiring. Most heat pump systems use electric heating. If your home does not have a gas water heater and you do not receive a natural gas bill, you likely have an electric system.

Identifying the Size and Number of Units

How do I know how many systems need replacing?

The number of thermostats you have in your home typically corresponds with how many systems you have. However, you may not need to replace all of your systems. Larson will come to your home to do a full assessment of your systems to determine the best solution for your home.

What if I don’t know the size my unit?

If you know the square footage your unit covers in your home, you can identify the tonnage of your unit using the chart below. If you don’t know exactly, you can give your best estimate.
